It is uncommon for someone to feel truly heard. The skill of listening is not generally well-understood nor well-practiced, but can be transformative for the person engaged in communicating. Friends can be good listeners to a certain extent, but it is a skill that requires refining and perfecting. The deep listening that I offer to executives and leaders is pivotal in ensuring that they feel heard, that their meanings are understood (whether spoken or unspoken), and that the path forward is clear. It is a collaborative process – which is powerful in itself – and creates the space for the executive and leader to verbalise ideas, concepts and thoughts that are often revolutionary.
I am a certified executive and life coach with a focus on dreaming big and achieving big. I mainly coach in English, but can also connect with and coach members who speak Mandarin. I firmly believe in the power of shifting perspectives, and have seen far-reaching transformations with remarkable results both within myself and with my clients through the coaching process.
My MBA qualification enables executives and leaders to be confident in knowing that they speak a language that I understand. I may not be able to relate to every business scenario, but speaking a common business language means that conversation can flow freely with less pauses for explanation.
Seeing things from our own perspective means that we cannot see from another. Blind spots exist and make us feel stuck – unless we become aware of that fact, and choose to see the world differently. As a coach, I help executives and leaders become aware of themselves, their beliefs and behaviours, and support them to explore how this impacts on others around them. Through the process, I also focus on helping them become aware of how they see the world, and investigate whether there are other perspectives that may create new possibilities, opportunities, and solutions.
Millennials have a distinct way of seeing and relating to the world. We require a deep sense of purpose in everything that we undertake. We desire knowing that what we do makes a difference. We value balance and fulfilment. We want to be heard and understood. We want meaningful change. As a coach to the millennial generation and as a millennial myself, I am closely connected to our needs and wants. Among all of them, I believe that the best gift that we can give ourselves is to know that we have choices, and to be mindful of how we make them.

I used to be a meditation teacher, and now help bring balance into people's lives. I have also gone to and trained in Vipassana retreats and yogic ashrams.
I facilitate everything from small teams (i.e., eight to 10 people) to extended leadership groups of 50+ people. Because many team gatherings generate more good feelings than great results, I insist on working with a leader and team to systematically: (1) Identify the outcomes/actions they expect from any session; (2)Explore lessons learned from previous sessions (e.g., what works and what does not); (3) Surface sensitive issues that have gone unaddressed for too long; and (4) Review a draft agenda to confirm expectations, agenda and content. Based on these inputs, I take a disciplined – and still fun, down-to-earth approach – to facilitating sessions around: building teamwork and trust (e.g., annual retreats); launching new teams; developing strategic plans; reviewing past performance; and solving problems through design-thinking and innovation.
